Hello
I saw my consultant today. As I have had a lot of tingling in some of my fingers she thinks I may have Carpal Tunnel Sydrome and said she wants to refer me to have nerve conductivity tests done. Has anyone had this done or know what is involved? Any experiences would be gratefully recieved.
Thank you Becky

I had it done recently for the same problem. You sit down with a cushion across your lap. Sticky pads and clips are placed on your hands, fingers and arms. A mild electric current is sent along the wire and measurements are taken of your twitching. It feels like very mild electric shocks. I probably had about 8 tests altogether. It is a bit uncomfortable but not painful. Please don't worry as i would be fine about having it done again (and I'm a real wuss).
Hope this reassures you.
Naomi.

Hi Becky i had this done a long time ago before i was diagnosed properly. It doesn't hurt it is just a peculiar feeling in your arms and leaves them feeling a bit shaky. Good luck.

Thank you everyone for your experiences and good wishes. I am feeling much better about it now. I'll let you know how I get on. Becky P.s. Bev when you say it leaves your arms feeling a bit shaky would it be ok to drive home or do I need to get someone to give me a lift?

Hi Becky,
When I had this done, I felt no pain whatsoever and drove home.
Take care
